Training Mgr, Housing Counseling Network

The National Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC) was formed in 1990 by national, regional, and local organizations to develop and harness the collective energies of community reinvestment organizations from across the country to increase the flow of private capital into traditionally underserved communities. NCRC has grown to an association of more than 600 community-based organizations that promote access to basic banking services including credit and savings, to create and sustain affordable housing, job development and vibrant communities for America's working families.

Position Overview:

The Manager – Housing Counseling Network reports to the Director – Housing Counseling Network and assists with the design of activities and implementation of NCRC’s Comprehensive Housing Counseling Training program. The Manager will also collaborate with NCRC Academy and National Neighbors staff to implement site and internet based training programs.

Specific responsibilities:

The Training Manager of the NCRC- Housing Counseling Network is responsible for planning, organizing, developing training materials, grant writing, leading and supervising training department. The Training Manager may attend meetings, conferences, training sessions, and events at the direction of the Director –HCN or the Chief Program Officer. This position is a direct report to the Director – NHCN, reports to the Chief Program Officer, and Training Director or in his/her absence, to the COO.

Monitor and evaluate Housing Counseling Network courses, instructors, and overall performance, and make recommendations that will help establish the Housing Counseling Network and National Neighbors programs as a respected national provider.

Develop a network of trainers and educators to deliver HCN courses and create templates for curriculum development and program development and create a nationally respected monitoring and evaluation system that ensures the highest quality training and education offerings, utilizing independent, third-party evaluators where required.

Implement, realize and report to NCRC Strategic Plan and contract goals and milestones.

Provide comprehensive support to the Chief Program Officer, Director – National Neighbors, Director – Housing Counseling Network, and collaborate with the Director – Training & Education

• Ability to create documented processes and procedures, and quickly integrate them into training courses/curriculums

• Ensuring that statutory training requirements are met;

• Recommend and implement new training and development opportunities.

• Identify & realize resources and build capacity for NCRC training and events.

 

COMPETENCIES:

• Strong program and personnel management and leadership skills.

• Demonstrable experience writing and successfully executing large public and/or private sector training programs.

• Working in a team to produce programs that are satisfactory to all relevant parties.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with exceptional presentation and facilitation skills.

• Knowledge of a wide variety of software tools, including webinar technology, and the ability to adapt to new tools easily.

• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both collaboratively and independently, and work effectively with members, industry leaders, and other professional associations.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree or equivalent in a field related to NCRC's work is highly preferred.

• Minimum of three years offering training and education, with additional experience managing a national training program preferred.

• Strong organizational abilities, including excellent attention to detail, the ability to prioritize and multi-task, and the ability to manage several moving and changing parts.

• Experience working with diverse groups of people and stakeholders.

• Desire to travel nationwide and willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends.

Compensation:

The Training Manager, NCRC Housing Counseling Network is a full-time on-site position. Salary is competitive and commensurate with background and experience.
