Erika Kuester is NCRC's Organizing Manager. Erika is a native of Detroit, Michigan. She holds a JD from the University of Toledo.
Erika launched her organizing career in the DART Community Organizers' Institute and trained with the BREAD Organization in Columbus, Ohio. After completing training, Erika worked as the lead organizer for SURE, a congregation-based community organization in Sarasota, Florida. At SURE, Erika organized several campaigns to alleviate community problems such as high rates of criminal recidivism, homelessness, and disparate educational opportunities. Before joining the NCRC team, Erika worked as a national organizer with the 1Sky campaign seeking comprehensive climate change policy. Erika joined the NCRC organizing staff as a Regional Organizer in 2011, covering the southeastern US and Michigan. She now works as the Organizing Manager, providing support and resources for National Neighbor Silver and general membership organizing campaigns.
