Chris Bilton is currently the Director of the Houston Minority Business Enterprise Center (HMBEC), operated by the National Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC). As the Director of the Houston Minority Business Enterprise Center (HMBEC), he is responsible for the overall management of all Center tasks and the ultimate performance of the Center.
Prior to working for NCRC, Mr. Bilton spent over two years working for the Center for Houston's Future, a regional think tank focused on improving the quality of life throughout the Greater Houston region. Initially serving as Director of Leadership & Engagement, Mr. Bilton was promoted to Interim President & CEO of the organization. As CEO of the Center for Houston's Future, Mr. Bilton was responsible for directing operations, budgeting, and oversight of all programmatic areas.
Prior to working at the Center for Houston's Future, Mr. Bilton spent over five years working as a consultant for Project GRAD USA, a national education reform initiative based in Houston, where he was responsible for successfully establishing new Project GRAD sites in underserved communities across the U.S. He also spent four years mentoring students at a local private school and a year and a half as an adjunct professor in the business school at Texas Southern University.
Mr. Bilton has years of experience in project management, business consulting, and community engagement. He earned his MBA from Clark Atlanta University and his Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas State University in San Marcos.
