The National Community Reinvestment Coalition in partnership with the Department of Housing and Urban Development is hosting comprehensive fair lending and mortgage fraud training for housing counselors in several communities around the country. Scholarships are available now (a $400 value)!

September 23-24 -Session 1: Thur-Fri Jacksonville, FL- Edward Waters College

September 22-23 -Session 2: Wed-Thur Dallas, TX- Hyatt Regency DFW

September 29-30 -Session 1: Wed-Thur Milwaukee, WI- Mount Mary College-Stiemke Hall

September 29-30 -Session 1: Wed-Thur Washington, DC- NCRC Training Academy

Registration is open to all not-for-profit organizations and/or state or local agencies that provide housing counseling or fair housing services.  Scholarships are offered on a first come, first serve basis and will be provided to the first 50 registrants. By the end of the session, attendees will be able to:

  • Identify and overcome discrimination and fraud in underwriting and better work with loan servicers on behalf of clients

  • Leverage best practices that will facilitate loan modifications, refinances and forbearance agreements

  • Conduct full file review and analysis of underwriting

  • Utilize civil rights and consumer protection laws, regulations and techniques that will sustain homeownership and hold lenders and servicers accountable for systemic violations of the law

  • Participate in the NCRC Housing Counseling Network as a qualified HUD Counseling Agency

Participants must pre-register and attend each module to receive their certificate of completion.  You are strongly encouraged to attend if you are a housing counselor, fair housing professional, consumer rights advocate or are in the legal services or research fields.  Please feel free forward this scholarship opportunity those whom you think may be interested in participating.  NCRC looks forward to working with you in the near future as we address fair lending and fraud issues around the country.
