Description

Fair Housing professionals, legal aid employees and housing counselors are cordially invited to attend National Fair Lending Initiative Training hosted by the National Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC) in partnership with the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). This Las Vegas training will span five days and be of great value to those dealing with issues in servicing, collection and loss mitigation.

Day 1 and 2: Identifying Mortgage Abuses and Fair Lending Violations (PREREQUISITE FOR DAYS 3 THRU 5)

The goal of this two-day course is to teach participants to look at the foreclosure process through a fair lending lens to better assist their communities.  Housing professionals will receive an overview of the historical mortgage marketplace and discuss issues relevant to the current housing market as well as fair lending concerns. Past attendees do not need to retake this course to attend days 3 - 5.

Day 3: Full Fair Lending File Review

This training will involve an in-depth examination and full fair lending file review.  Professionals will gain a full understanding of how each document can be misused or manipulated.  The loan document review will provide a high-level analysis of the credit report, pay stubs, 1003 (Uniform Residential Loan Application), TILA (Truth in Lending Act), GFE (Good Faith Estimate), Note, Mortgage, and disclosures

Day 4 and 5: Mortgage Lending Discrimination & Predatory Lending
This two-day course addresses the complex challenges in identifying and addressing mortgage lending discrimination and predatory lending. This course offers a practical, hands-on approach, using actual loan documents, to address residential mortgage lending discrimination and predatory lending
