NCRC CDF Launch Academy

This 9-week program guides pre-revenue and start-up entrepreneurs through the 17 foundational steps of launching a business. In addition to going through the Launch Academy eCourse, the cohort will meet with an instructor via Zoom for two hours of classroom time each week. This time will be used to brainstorm ideas, receive feedback, bring in guest experts, and connect with fellow course participants. The course will conclude with the creation of a one-page business plan and polished elevator pitch to sell your business to anyone. Guest experts will be invited for Q&A sessions throughout the program.

While anyone would benefit from this business fundamentals program, it was designed with small business owners in mind who are early in their entrepreneurial journey or are in the start-up phase of business.

The NCRC CDFI Launch Academy will take place every Monday for 2-hours between February 6 and April 3, 2023 at 3pm PT / 6pm ET.

February 6, 2023: Week 1 – Customer discovery / Business model canvas

February 13, 2023: Week 2 – Naming / Licensing & permits

February 21, 2023: Week 3 – Banking / Record keeping / Entity set-up (Note this class is on Tuesday, Feb. 21 to accommodate for President’s Day)

February 27, 2023: Week 4 – Tax planning / Pricing strategy

March 6, 2023: Week 5 – Branding / Marketing plan / Online presence

March 13, 2023: Week 6 – Contracts / Insurance

March 20, 2023: Week 7 – Team / Systems & Organization

March 27, 2023: Week 8 – Start-up capital and elevator pitch

April 3, 2023: Week 9 – Final Wrap-Up: Business plan and elevator pitch presentations
